Every Last Little Bit

Life.

It beats the hell out of you.

No matter what you do

it rarely stops kicking you.

Is it for fun?

Or because life knows

that from it

you can

not

run?

Does it get it's jollies off of

watching

your follies?

Are you the joke of the day?

Is life toying with us

like a cat at play?

Who's design was it to make

the sun not always shine?

Who thought to make love a crime?

Life gladly kicks you while

your down.

It will happily malice your name

all

through town.

Life will joyfully break

what it can not

bend.

Your dreams it takes

and

slams to the floor.

Life takes your friends

and

shows them the door.

Life makes lovers leave

as it stares lustfully at your breasts

heave.

It sees your tears drop

and

licks them up.

Does life really enjoy

seeing us hop?

Sitting back laughing as we

drop?

I think life loves it.

Every last little bit

of it.

Tell Them to Bring More

My heart feels heavy.

As if for another

battle my body must

ready.

So be it

if it is so.

Sometimes

you can not

say no.

If it is to

be a war

then

let us go.

Like in the

days of lore.

Instead of dread

in our hearts

we shall let

them soar.

We were born

for war.

Tell them to bring

more.
